Bright and early on Sunday morning, seven members of Sheffield Babywearers gathered with a whole heap of other ladies, dressed in various amounts of pink, to do the Sheffield Race for Life.
We all walked carrying a baby or toddler to raise money for Cancer Research. Many of us have friends and family who have been affected by cancer and we all feel strongly about the value of supporting this cause.
We were very excited to be name-checked and cheered over the starting line by Hallam FM's Big John, and we were off!
The maximum-effort prize went to Kirstie for carrying her 40lb pre-school daughter, and the maximum-achievement prize to Becky who actually ran a good deal of the way with her toddler on her back! (Which is why she isn't in this photo, but you can see her crossing the finishing line here!)
Along with two other local babywearers, we have so far raised a whopping £1,150, and hope to get to our target total of £1,200 with a few last minute donations. If you would like to nudge us over the line, please visit our fundraising page. Thanks to everyone who supported us, either by contributing to our fundraising or coming down to cheer us on (or both!)
